Four neighborhood restaurants across Adams Morgan, Mount Pleasant and Union Market earned spots in the Michelin Guide's D.C. selection on Thursday, Sept. 17.

The additions land during the guide's tenth year covering the District. Rye Bunny and Maison Bar à Vins, both in Adams Morgan, join Bar del Monte in Mount Pleasant and Elcielo Bistró DC near Union Market, according to the Michelin Guide's announcement. All four carry the guide's "recommended" designation.

Rye Bunny, at 1827 Adams Mill Road NW, opened in April 2026 in the former home of the Michelin-starred Tail Up Goat. Husband-and-wife team Jon Sybert and Jill Tyler run the counter-service spot, which Michelin's editors described as having a "casual, farmhouse vibe." The restaurant also landed on the New York Times' 2026 list of 50 favorite restaurants in America, as reported by Secret DC.

Rye Bunny is primarily walk-in but offers two nightly reservation slots through OpenTable with a $25 deposit donated to local nonprofit partners. In a Monday, Sept. 14, New York Times feature on dining trends, Sybert said he welcomes however guests choose to order. "However people want to eat is fine by me," he said.

Down the block at 1834 Columbia Road NW, Maison Bar à Vins occupies a brownstone with a French-inspired à la carte menu from chef Matt Conroy. The restaurant was named a 2026 James Beard Award finalist for best new restaurant. It celebrated its one-year anniversary around Monday, Sept. 14.

@AdamsMorganNews: "25,000+ guests. 22,000+ glasses of wine."

Bar del Monte sits at 3054 Mt. Pleasant St. NW, tucked in a small alley. Chef and owner Oliver Pastan serves Italian small plates and house-made pizzas, including chickpea-flour fritters, lamb skewers and seasonal pies like anchovy and squash blossom.

Elcielo Bistró DC, at 1280 4th St. NE, is the more casual sibling to the Michelin-starred Elcielo tasting room next door. Chef Juan Manuel Barrientos offers a modern Colombian-inspired menu featuring shrimp empanadas with garlic mayo and chimichurri bison ribeye.

The announcement came during a strong week for D.C. dining nationally. Washingtonian reported that Food & Wine named Causa/Maru San chef Carlos Delgado and Perry's chef Masako Morishita among its Best New Chefs in America. Marcus DC was also recognized among Travel + Leisure's 25 best hotel restaurants in the world.

Whether any of the four newcomers will earn a Michelin star or Bib Gourmand nod remains to be seen. That ceremony is scheduled for Dec. 14 in New York City.
