D.C. residents can start signing up for 2027 health insurance through DC Health Link on Sunday, Nov. 1.

Mayor Muriel Bowser announced the open enrollment window, encouraging all District residents to explore coverage on the city's online health insurance marketplace, DC News Now reported. The enrollment period runs through Jan. 31, 2027.

Twenty-four private health insurance plans are available this cycle, according to DC News Now, along with the Healthy DC Plan for lower-income residents.

What the Healthy DC Plan covers

The Healthy DC Plan is for D.C. residents whose incomes are up to two times the federal poverty level, according to DC News Now's reporting. The DC Health Link website describes the plan as having no monthly payments and no costs when enrollees receive care.

New for 2027, the Healthy DC Plan now covers free dental and vision services for all enrollees, according to DC Health Link.

All plans on the marketplace cover doctor visits, hospital stays, mental health care, prescriptions and preventive care.

Residents can sign up at the DC Health Link website using online tools, including Plan Match, which lets users anonymously compare plans, and a new Health Savings Account (HSA) calculator.
