The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for help finding Amin Bolton, a 14-year-old boy who has been missing since Friday, Aug. 7, when he was last seen in the 800 block of Barnaby Street SE.
Bolton was reported missing around 8 a.m. that morning. MPD issued a public alert two days later on Sunday, Aug. 9, classifying the case as a "Critical" missing person. That designation is the department's highest-urgency classification for missing youth cases.
Bolton is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, 120 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black coat, black pants and white shoes.
MPD's Youth and Family Engagement Division is leading the search. The department posted the alert from its verified X account on Aug. 9, and WUSA9 reporter Alexa Henry published details of the case the same day.
No circumstances surrounding Bolton's disappearance have been released. MPD has not announced a press conference or provided additional details beyond the physical description and last-known location.
Bolton's case is the latest in a wave of missing-youth alerts from the department. At least 15 critical missing youth alerts have been issued since Saturday, July 25, involving teenagers from Southeast, Southwest, Northeast and Northwest D.C. The count was current as of Aug. 9 and may have grown since.
MPD had not announced any update on Bolton's status as of Monday, Aug. 10.
