The man fatally stabbed in Columbia Heights on Friday, Sept. 25, was Osmen Misael Garcia Bonilla, 34, a Northwest D.C. resident, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announced Monday, Sept. 28.
MPD is offering up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case, as first reported by DC News Now. Police have not made an arrest three days after the killing.
Officers were dispatched to the 3400 block of 13th Street NW shortly before 2:15 a.m. on Sept. 25 after a report of a stabbing. First responders found Garcia Bonilla with stab wounds. He later died. As the investigation developed, detectives determined the stabbing took place around the corner in the 1300 block of Park Road NW.
A second victim was also found at the scene on Sept. 25, according to earlier DC News Now coverage. That person was conscious and breathing when medics arrived. MPD has not released an update on the second victim's condition or identity.
Shortly before 3 a.m. that morning, D.C. police issued a lookout for two possible teenagers on scooters. One was described as riding a Lime bike and armed with a knife. Police have not said whether those individuals have been located.
