The Metropolitan Police Department helped execute search warrants in Washington on Monday as part of a multi-agency takedown of an organized retail theft ring that stole more than $500,000 in merchandise from over 100 businesses across five jurisdictions.
Six people were arrested and charged Tuesday, Aug. 11, including two D.C. residents: Daryl Michael Jackson, 30, and Marco Morgan, 37. The other four suspects are Cyan Rocke, 25, and Tia Courtney, 31, both of Capitol Heights; and Chyna Parker, 26, and Quasaan Parker, 22, both of Suitland.
All six had prior arrests.
Prince George's County Police led the investigation, which began in February 2025 after a wave of retail thefts in the county. The case expanded after the department created its Organized Retail Theft Task Force in February 2026, eventually reaching into Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware and the District of Columbia.
"This was their profession. This is what they do," Prince George's County Police Chief Malik Aziz Nader said at a news conference Tuesday. "They go out all day, every day, and steal from different merchants throughout the region, different states. And they resell these items. Sometimes they take orders for these items."
MPD, Maryland State Police and Homeland Security Investigations joined Prince George's County detectives in executing six search warrants simultaneously in Maryland and D.C. on Monday, Aug. 10, according to Prince George's County Police. Officers recovered approximately $20,000 in stolen merchandise with security tags still attached. The Arlington County Police Department said on X that the searches also turned up roughly 2 kilograms of crack cocaine and 4 ounces of mushrooms. Fox 5 DC reported firearms were also seized.
Investigators say the suspects stole tools, clothing and other goods that could be quickly resold, then moved the merchandise through social media and private sales. Police said the group sometimes took orders for specific stolen items.
Three of the six defendants face federal charges filed by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Maryland, in addition to state charges. All six face enhanced charges under a Maryland law that allows prosecutors to aggregate thefts committed at multiple stores as part of organized retail crime investigations.
Quasaan Parker faced 11 theft charges in 2023 for stealing from stores in the Oxon Hill area, but those charges were not prosecuted by the Prince George's County State's Attorney's Office at the time.
MPD has not released a statement on its role in the investigation. Prince George's County Police said additional arrests are expected. Anyone with information can call 301-772-4900.
