Free lunchtime concerts, lawn games and adoptable pets return to Farragut Square starting Wednesday, Sept. 9, when the Golden Triangle BID begins its fall Farragut Fun Days.

The weekly Wednesday events run 12:30 to 2 p.m. through Oct. 14 at the park at 17th and K Streets NW. No registration is needed. The Golden Triangle Business Improvement District (BID) organizes the series across its 172-block territory stretching from the White House to Dupont Circle.

"We invite everyone to the Golden Triangle to experience free fun in the middle of DC's downtown," Leona Agouridis, president and CEO of the Golden Triangle BID, said in a Sept. 1 announcement.

Each Wednesday features a different live act. CantoSur opens the series Sept. 9, followed by Wytold & Tolk on Sept. 16, Kofi Dennis on Sept. 23, Cariel Coates on Sept. 30 and taiko drumming with Mark H Taiko Connection on Oct. 14.

The Oct. 7 performer has not been announced. Oct. 21 serves as a rain date, according to the BID.

The series also includes used book sales from Carpe Librum and pet adoptions through the Brandywine Valley SPCA, according to the BID. Last year, the organization added pink shade umbrellas and comfortable chairs to the square.

Free yoga and fitness

A companion series called TriFit opens Tuesday, Sept. 8, with a free barre class led by The Washington Ballet. CorePower Yoga takes over the Tuesday evening slot starting Sept. 15, running through Oct. 13 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Registration is free but required through Eventbrite. Participants should bring a mat or towel and a water bottle.

Outdoor office space

The BID also runs its GLDN+ Outdoor Office activation, offering tables, chairs and free WiFi on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at four parks: Farragut Square, Longfellow Park (M Street NW and Connecticut Avenue NW), Monroe Park (I and 20th Streets NW) and Murrow Park (H and 18th Streets NW). Seating is first-come, first-served, as MidCity DC News reported.
