The DC Holiday Market returns to Dupont Circle for a third year, with a 40-day season opening Thursday, Nov. 12.
The outdoor market will run through Wednesday, Dec. 23, on a closed section of the 1500 block of New Hampshire Avenue NW, between Q Street and Dupont Circle. The location sits one block from the Dupont Circle Metro station. More than 35 small businesses will sell artisan goods, jewelry, ceramics, beauty products and art across six weekends, according to the market's website.
Diverse Markets Management, the D.C.-based firm producing the market, previously ran the Downtown Holiday Market outside the National Portrait Gallery for 19 years before launching this independent market in Dupont Circle in 2024, as Hoodline reported. The market moved from its original spot on 19th Street NW to the wider New Hampshire Avenue block to improve foot traffic flow.
"The market brings so many people to Dupont Circle, not just to shop for gifts, but to see what a great neighborhood we have with restaurants and shops," Patrick Kain, chair of the Dupont Circle Business Improvement District, told DC News Now.
Michael Berman, president and CEO of Diverse Markets Management, called the market a natural complement to the neighborhood's retail and dining scene. The area counts roughly 40 shops, 110 restaurants and 140 service businesses, according to the market's website.
Returning food vendors are expected to include Migue's Mini Donuts and Capital Candy Jar's hot roasted nuts, Hoodline reported.
The market is open noon to 8 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. It will close on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 26, and on Monday, Nov. 30, for exhibitor turnover. Gift certificates called "Market Dollars" are available through the market's website.
