The DowntownDC Holiday Market will stretch to 40 days this season, with 119 vendors set to fill F Street NW starting Friday, Nov. 13.
The DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) announced Wednesday, Sept. 30, that the market's 22nd season will run through Wednesday, Dec. 23, on F Street NW between 7th and 9th Streets. The 2025 market opened Nov. 21, according to Fox 5, making the 2026 season about a week longer.
The market sits in front of the National Portrait Gallery and Smithsonian American Art Museum. It is free.
Hours run Monday through Thursday from noon to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The market will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.
119 vendors, 15 food stops
The BID said 119 vendors will fill the market, including 15 food and beverage vendors. New additions include Laura's Raw Honey, a third-generation beekeeping family selling classic and infused honeys; District Candle Lab + Fawne, a D.C.-based shop offering custom candles and charm jewelry; and Stained Glass by Kib, a family-owned handcrafted stained-glass business.
Returning vendors include Gone to the Dogs, which sells sustainable pet products made from repurposed materials, and Plants & What Knot, known for botanical creations inspired by Japanese traditions.
On the food side, DOLCE will serve hazelnut marshmallow hot chocolate, Lucky Danger will offer short rib, chicken and veggie dumplings, and Fireside Eats will sell hand-breaded chicken tenders and seasoned fries.
The Winter Chalet by Dirty Habit will return with adult beverages. Hotel Monaco is the market's premier hotel sponsor.
25% retail vacancy looms over downtown
The extended run comes as downtown D.C. navigates a difficult stretch. The BID's 2025 State of Downtown Report, released May 7, found retail vacancy rates hovering around 25%, more than double pre-pandemic levels. Downtown lost nearly 6,000 jobs in 2025, driven by federal workforce reductions.
Foot traffic rose 2.5% in 2025, according to the same report.
DowntownDC BID President and CEO Gerren Price said the longer season is meant to give shoppers more time with local makers. "… We're excited to make this year's celebration even more meaningful by giving people more time to experience the Holiday Market, connect with local makers and enjoy everything happening throughout Downtown," Price said in a statement.
Mayor Muriel Bowser promoted the market on X on Wednesday, Sept. 30, noting the 40-day extension.
What's next
The market opens Friday, Nov. 13. CityCenterDC's annual tree lighting follows Saturday, Nov. 14. The BID will hold a community coat drive at its Frosted celebration in Franklin Park on Saturday, Dec. 5.
