Kymone Freeman is running for D.C.'s non-voting seat in Congress as the Statehood Green Party candidate in the Nov. 3, 2026, general election. He is certified for the ballot, according to BallotReady election data.
Freeman's campaign centers on the slogan "No Representation, No Taxes," according to his campaign website. Freeman said he has fought for D.C. for 30 years and is demanding representation for the District's more than 700,000 residents, who pay federal income taxes without a voting representative in Congress.
Freeman has served as director of the National Black L.U.V. Festival since 1997 and co-founded We ACT Radio in 2011, according to BallotReady profile data.
On housing, Freeman said the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development guideline that residents should not pay more than 30% of income on housing should become a national mandate. He said social housing should be the model to address the housing crisis, according to his questionnaire response. On healthcare, Freeman said a system of healthcare for all must replace what he called the "for-profit sickcare system."
The other candidates in this race are Robert White (Democratic) and Denise Rosado (Republican).
Candidate positions are drawn from Freeman's campaign website and BallotReady questionnaire responses.
